Selenium’s main function is to inhibit the oxidation of fats (lipids) as a component of the enzyme gluthione peroxidase. Selenium is a vital antioxidant and when combined with Vitamin E it protects the immune system by prevention of free radicals, help maintain an healthy liver and heart.
